While many went to work and school and had lunch with friends, B and I took up temporary residency at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic. For ten hours, one drug after another with intermittent saliene solutions to wash his veins out, were injected into B's system. Sometimes he felt drowsy. Sometimes tingly and itchy. And hungry very very hungry. The best news of the day came when the nurse practitioner assigned to B reported that his bone marrow biopsy is negative. Just one more hurdle - the PET scan. And at least two more sessions of chemo and some radiation. Hopefully that tumor on B's neck will shrink down to nothing. I keep kidding B that after his hair all falls out and grown back in again that it is going to be black curly thick all over his head kind of hair. He's looking forward to that. Despite all our anxiety and worry, today was not as horrible as we had thought. We attribute it to all your prayers and faith on his behalf. Thank you for your flowers, and hot homemade chicken soup and pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and your cards, and funny emails, and offers to walk our devil dog who can't leave food on a counter without trying to sample it, and puzzle books and for sharing this burden. We appreciate it all so much.
