Labour Days have traditionally been a winsome farewell to an unstructured summer with a BBQ, a long walk and then the frantic readying for school. Today started like usual only now we're into Yoga though if they keep that nonsense up of chanting at that studio, I may have to relocate my practise. The long walk was only for Fernando's benefit though. The frantic readying was now channelled into cleaning up bedrooms recently vacated with children who have flown the coup. One child left a dozen towels to wash. Another child left a closet full of clothing I can only assume means she's eager for a new wardrobe. I cleaned energetically channelling all that nostalgia and longing and remembering into a clean room. Tomorrow when the school buses drive down the street, and for a minute or perhaps two, I'm going to watch jealously while those moms and dads wave their good-byes. Mon Nid Est Encore Vraiment Vide!
Thank goodness a trip to Phoenix later this week will give me some time to consider what comes next.
