Which is why I am now introducing this year's Resolutionary Challenge. Because Whitney Johnson is not able to run this year's Challenge; she's asked me to helm the 2010 Resolutionary Challenge in her stead.
The ground rules are:
1. Start date is Monday, January 11; we'll go for 12 weeks, and end on April 4th.
2. Contribute $30 CDN into the Resolutionary Challenge Fund by January 11, 2010.
3. A maximum of 10 points can be earned daily, 70 points weekly, 840 over 12 weeks.
4. Beginning January 11, record your points in an online spreadsheet to be circulated by Jan 11, 2010.By registering for the challenge, this will allow you access to the discussion group and online spreadsheet where you can keep track of your progress and see how others are doing.
5. There are three categories of winners:
Most points: 40% of the cash in the Challenge Fund will be for the highest scoring resolutionaries with the most points and
who did not win last year.
Weekly winners: To keep us motivated and reward small victories along the way, 40% of the cash will be allocated for interim prizes, as we did last year.
Finishers: The Resolutionary Challenge is partly about getting the most points, but mostly about process. Each participant who gets an average of 60% points or better per week and finishes the entire 12 weeks, will have won, and will be eligible for giveaways funded by the remaining 20% in the Challenge Fund.
6. Points are earned for the following activities:
1. Do the dishes before I go to bed.
2. Drink 8 glasses of water.
3. Exercise 30 minutes.
4. Be ready to present myself to the world by 11 a.m.
5. Eat 2 servings of fruit/3 servings of vegetables each day.
6. Savor up to (1) small treat/per day
7. Take 15 minutes just for me (e.g. read a book for fun, for meditation, contemplation of the divine, take a walk, watch a TV show)
8. Finish eating by 9 p.m.
9. Wild Card Week One: Write and mail a thank-you note - with real paper and in my own handwriting - for Christmas or something thoughtful someone has done for me.
10. Do something today that will make a difference and record it in my "Atta Girl or Atta Boy" journal.
Are you ready to be a resolutionary?
If you are, click on this PayPal button and pay the entry fee; it's going to show up as $30. If you don't want to open a PayPal account, let me know -- we'll figure out an alternative arrangement. In the meantime, here's the button:
Some of you may not have a pay pal account. When you click on the "buy now button" it will link you to a page where you will find how to pay in the bottom left hand corner of the page. It will say: Don't have a PayPal account?
Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Click "Continue" and it will allow you to pay by your credit card with a secure payment.

Sounds amazing. Count me in.
Sorry, unclear here(?) Is the point to complete the list above only?
Is there an opportunity to work on individual/alternate goals and support one another? The concept interests me, but is there room to personalize things for those who would not choose several of your base list as accomplishments in some cases, they may have other things that work for them ( ie would not use the treat a day) or some are already habits( ie dishes done), or what if they cannot physically exercise for health reasons?
I understand that to accommodate everyone may be impossible, just wondering how set the goals are.
The wild card provides an opportunity for setting different goals - what did you have in mind? The base list is not concrete - somewhere to start. I'd like to hear your ideas.
So will the base list change week to week or get longer?
How many are signed up so far?
Count me in! I think it will be great motivation. Thanks for the invite.
I think it would be great to incorporate breath work into one of the daily points. Breath is one of the areas western humans have unlearned or never learned and is so important for good health and harmony.
Here is a great example of some practices:

Could you explain how the wild card works? Do I write a thank you card each day?
Today is the start day! Good luck everyone!
Did I miss the spreadsheet email?
Thanks.
kks
I signed up on Saturday and haven't gotten any info yet. How do I this?
is it too late to sign up? (Paula (walker) Jensen) I just read about it...
Paula it is not too late. Just sign up - we will have opportunities along the way to make up serious points.
