From my earliest recollection, I have believed in
Jesus Christ
As I young child seeing Niagra Falls for the first time, I sensed the majesty and wonder of His creations and knew then, as I know now, that He lives. During my elementary school years, I attended numerous Vacation Bible schools where kind volunteers would share stories of Jesus with me. One particular year, a beautifully illustrated Bible was to be given as a gift to the child who brought the most children to the Vacation Bible school. While my motives were more about winning that Bible than bringing children to a knowledge of Christ, I was earnest, focused and relentless. Much like St Patrick, I went to homes and even the Chinese cafe where I knew little children lived and whose parents wouldn't mind my taking them. I did win the Bible and treasured it for many years, enjoying the beautiful illustrations of Jesus raising Lazurus, feeding fish and bread to the masses and his rebuke to those who would have stoned the harlot.
Despite my faith in Jesus Christ, I have not always followed in his footsteps. Rebellious, proud, unkind, sadly ETC. And yet, each time I have repented, "my soul hath been redeemed from the gall of bitterness and the bonds of iniquity" (Mosiah 27:29)Trying to be like Jesus in all that I do and say is my greatest desire.
From the earliest teachings of my mother, I have believed also in the second coming of Christ where every knee will bow and every tongue confess he is the Christ. I have trust and hope in this.
And this Easter Sunday, I wish to add my belief that He is Risen!
