I challenged my family to an NBA free agents move selections game today. Chris Boch, Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and Joe JOhnson are the four they must have in their selection. The 5th can be of their choice. Dirk, Boozer, Pierce...the list is quite impressive and quite extensive. The person with the most correct answers will win a prize of my choice - TBA. But trust me - you will want to win this game.
Do you really think LeBron will leave the Cavaliers??? (I'm sure he'd love to go to a team where they will one day when a championship ; ) But I heard he was thinking about the Clippers--and that makes no sense to me.
All I know right now is I am incredibly inspired by the Celtics and Doc Rivers, and Nate Robinson. During the final playoff game when they asked him how he was doing, he said God helped me. How many pro athletes say that?
Janine I didn't much about basketball - didn't really care about it until both my boys started playing. Because I wanted to be part of their world, I went to the games, watched the games. They were often embarrassed as I called out "press them, press them" when they were in offensive mode rather than defensive. It's been a long journey but I love the game now - love all the intensity and the thrill and the competition. To be the ideal wife for B, I will have to like hockey and football. It ain't going to happen. Unless of course, I have grandchildren who love it.
Whitney, I heard Nate Robinson actually say that God had helped him. I noticed too that Dwight Howard said the same after game 5. I think there are more athletes who believe than we know. At any rate, this Celtic team is pretty impressive - from where they have come and what they have experienced. Rondo and Robinson are bringing energy and zest. Allen and Pierce and Garnett have the depth and experience. As Pierce said in that repetitive clip the NBA has "We're never giving up"
