When B was a boy, he spent his Saturday nights watching Hockey Night in Canada. He's remained a faithful fan to his favorite NHL (National Hockey League) team, the Montreal Canadiens despite the thrilling Gretzky years in Edmonton and the exciting Flames' playoffs a few years ago. He enjoys attending an NHL game from time to time when he can, but if not, he enjoys watching them or reading about them.
There's a new NHL in B's life that threatens to eclipse all else. On Thursday, August 26th B was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. His treatment plan will begin this Thursday. We are hopeful because of early detection, positive CT scans and "normal" bloodwork. He is young, otherwise healthy, optimistic. These next six to twelve months are going to be rough but not without their blessings.
Yesterday B purchased a whack of movies and television programmes to view while he heals; he has a mountain of books he's wanted to read for ages. He can take up geneology as a hobby now. No more excuses on that front. The time will pass and our family will be stronger for this experience. It's a train ride nobody ever wants to take but the learning is only experienced from these windows.
We appreciate your prayers and expressions of love and support. We appreciate even more those who kept this confidence while we found a way to adjust to his diagnosis.

Good luck with the upcoming treatment this week. Let me know how I can help. I missed visiting with you at the wedding, but I did have a great visit with Mercedes and a quick one with Bob before we left.
We're sorry to hear of the trials you are going through. There are great treatments now for NHL and B being in such good health will make a difference. Let me know if I can do anything or if you need someone to talk to. I'm always there for you...Love you all

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this! You and B have such great attitudes. We will be praying for you.
Oh not such fun news.
Good luck on the treatments and the catching up!
I'll be thinking of you all.
I'm sorry to hear about this challenge for all of you. It sounds like you're both looking at this through a positive lens, though, and there's good reason for optimism. B is young, healthy and fit and very disciplined. I hope the treatments go well and aren't too difficult. What is involved in the treatment? You're all in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm sorry to hear about this new challenge for all of you. I don't know a lot about NHL. What does treatment involve? It's good that you're able to focus on the positives, like the time this will free up for Bob to do some leisure and relaxation activities. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise? He's young and otherwise healthy, which should be a plus for him. Call me anytime if you need to talk. Good luck with the treatments. I'll be thinking about you.
You are truly an inspiration to me! Your grace and bravery truly impress me and my thoughts and prayers are with you!
