Eastern Creeps and Bums

It started with the leftover cranberry sauce. It seemed like such a waste to throw it out. And nobody eats muffins here anymore. A little internet search offered a delicious cranberry maple syrup poured over orange waffles. Just then the phone interrupted my search with the caller inviting us to a laser quest party to celebrate her husband's birthday. And before I even knew what I was saying, I had invited them to come the following day for brunch. Another four phone calls later, I had invited the whole gang of Eastern Creeps and Bums

Within seconds, we had a party happening the following morning. Time to clean the house. Time to buy something else to serve besides cranberry sauce. Time to buy that Williams Sonoma waffle maker .

I love brunch. I love these Eastern Creeps. I love how these spontaneous moments turn into wonderful memories.

I meant to say, how was the syrup

Fun! And I only know the 4 of you.

Did you go to laser tag that night? And was the syrup?

Thanks for asking about the syrup (and waffles), Janine! I moved to Calgary in 1980, and since I was from Winnipeg: The Gateway to the West, I never considered myself an Eastern Creep or Bum, but upon further reflection, I guess I am too - that is, if I could include myself among the fine company you have in the picture!! much love - K
