I have always wondered why those who live in New Orleans or on the islands just don't pack up and move away from the constant threat of hurricanes, tsunamis, tropical storms. They must love the annual clean up? They maybe don't possess great imaginations where they might relocate? They are masochistic?
I've been experiencing another tsunami. I'm still standing. Breathing. Battered. Not broken. I guess I have some deep roots to anchor me from the latest crushing wave. I hadn't dried off from the previous one. I'm going to the desert next week. For a break. Haboob be damned.
Is there any other way?
