Bathing Beauties
Our mother grew up near a canal where she and her siblings swam most of the summer. She introduced each of us to the water while we were still babies. She loved the water. Swimming was how she loved exercising especially later in her life. She loved when the grandchildren would join her in the pool and they would play for hours.
Recently I found her a new bathing suit for our vacation in Arizona. Not an easy feat with that dowager hump and tummy. It took all our coaxing and assurances that she would be safe for her to join us in the water.
UTBM: Oh it's so cold. (It was 86 F)
UTBM: Oh it's so deep. (It was four feet)
She sat on the step stiff and clearly uncomfortable. Within a few minutes she returned to the house, into her pjs.
She's forgotten how to swim.

Oh no, I hate this. I could forget how to swim? No, no, no.
