Take Away's From Solstice Writing Conference

1. It was in Midway, not Midvale.
2. John Bytheway grew up and became a businessman.
3. Louise Plummer has the best skin, the best laugh.
4. A Kobo under the covers looks a lot like someone being visited by an angel.
5. Head's Up app is as much fun as it professes.
6. Name the guilty. So you better be nice(r).
7. There is genius and then there is hard work. Both get published, but not everyone wants to read the latter.
8. Finding themes and connections makes memoir more interesting.
9. Classes at 8 a.m. are the great and abominable.
10. A sheep painting by Marian Dunn that will become the most talked about and coveted.
11. If I am ever stranded on an island, I want Ann Cannon and Louise Plummer there too. I might die from starvation but at least I will go out laughing.

You would really be better off on an island with Tom than me. I could come by in my raft and entertain you once in awhile. Ask Val for the "My father" exercise and try it.

That sheep painting is the BEST. You lucky thing.

Stranded on an island - I would bring Ann Cannon and Louise Plummer and an unlimited supply of dark chocolate, or really great milk chocolate. You could live a long time like that.
