Into the Universe
Stephen Hawking's theories hurt my head. In the first segment of his documentary Into the Universe, he suggests that if aliens exploit resources like human beings do, we should be afraid. Very afraid. Aliens, time travel and leaving earth are his big ideas. Ideas that sound so fantastic and imaginative to someone like me who doesn't enjoy sci-fi. While I confess ignorance in most of the science from which he bases his theories, I was struck by his answer when he was asked what is the one question every single person should ask himself? Hawking replied:

I saw that show in our on-screen guide and at first was excited by it, and then slightly sad that he was focussing on aliens. I love to listen to him, but, like you said, I seldom know what he's talking about. That's a great quote by him.
Great question and far more productive than worrying about the possibility of Aliens.
