The Bluest Skies You've Ever Seen

B and I drove to eastern Washington on Wednesday in his new Escalade. He grinned much of the trip. It's a smooth quiet ride. We overnighted with our friends B and J and enjoyed a tour around the Columbia River where the turbo jet races will occur this weekend. We lunched on Costa Vida's fresh Mexican food and then headed west to Bellevue, Washington where we will celebrate a 60th birthday, a sealing and a baby blessing.

B and I played a game on the way here: a geni will grant our three wishes. What will they be?

B: I want my kids to be upright and worthy of all Heavenly Father's blessings.

Me: Me too B but this is a geni. Use your imagination.

B: Well that is what I want. All I have ever wanted.

Me: I know, I know. But work with me. A GENI - this isn't real.

B: Okay, okay. I want to play a saxophone on Saturday Night Live.

Me: Really? Like Clinton?

B: No, like me. And no Blues' Brothers outfit either.

Me: Okay what else, you have two more.

His imagination is a little rusty but pretty soon he comes up with two more.

B: So now the Geni is giving you three wishes. What do you want?

Me: Make it so that  I will never wrinkle, sag or age. Just think of all the money I will save from no Botox, fillers, creams, potions.

And I want a job that takes me all over the world interviewing people and then reporting about it.

I'm stuck. I can't come up with a third thing.

My imagination is rusty too.

What would your three wishes be? Remember this is a GENI!

A new car, a blue sky, the open road, and the girl of his dreams seated right beside him. Sounds like perfection to me. No wonder he couldn't think of anything . For one of my wishes I would love to see B playing the saxophone on Saturday Night Live! Fun post.

I would love to play the sax on Saturday Night Live. I've always wanted to do stand up on Letterman, be interviewed on the Today Show and live in England until I didn't want to anymore!

I want a "newer" car, one that doesn't look like it belongs to a serial killer, and preferably a convertible.

I want to vacation on a beach once a year.

I want to finish my book.

Bonnie, I laughed out loud reading this entry. If I had three wishes, I would choose - leaving out the obvious big stuff - 1) a self cleaning house, 2) the ability to eat anything I want, and 3) a warm vacation every winter.
